Today, G59 Record$ duo and New Orleans cousins $uicideboy$ debut Spring Season (1989-1990), the first EP of their 4-part Yin Yang Tapes series, which will be available this month – listen HERE. Each Friday in May, the group will release a 4-song EP named after one of the four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter. Guest features on the Yin Yang Tapes include artists Ghostemane (“Bloody 98”) and Freddie Dredd (“Provolone & Heroin”), marking the first time non-G59 artists have appeared on a $uicideboy$ track in over three years.

Accompanying the music releases will be a Japan-inspired animation series animated by Tristan Zammit (Metallica, XXXTentacion, Juice WRLD). The visuals, that will serve as music videos, will follow $uicideboy$-inspired characters Wetto and Blanco existing in a macabre occultist reality set in a barren and abandoned post-post apocalyptic New Orleans. Together, the four videos will reveal a complete story. The first animated video, entitled “Hot Razor” will debut on May 12, followed by a new visual every week.

Later this month, the $uicideboy$ will announce the dates and support acts for their 2023 Grey Day Tour in North America and the release date of their next full-length album, which will be available this summer. The new tour dates will follow a wildly successful 2022-2023 run that brought the $uicideboy$ to arenas and amphitheaters in over 40 US markets. They also went overseas for a nearly sold-out 16-date European tour. Together the tours collectively combined for over 500,000 tickets sold. After the US and European tours, the group made their first appearance as a top-billed act at the 2023 Coachella Music Festival.

The Yin Yang Tapes follow a joint-EP that the $uicideboy$ released in February with their G59 Record$ labelmate Shakewell. The EP has garnered over 50 million streams on Spotify alone, and its single “Big Shot Cream Soda” debuted in the Top 10 of  Spotify’s Top Songs Debut Chart in the US. As of April 2023, the $uicideboy$ are in the Top 100 of the highest-streaming artists of all time, according to ChartMasters. Their top-streamed track on Spotify has garnered over 500 million streams, while their top two performing albums,  I Want To Die In New Orleans and My Liver Will Handle What My Heart Can’t, have combined for over 1.2 billion streams on the platform.

ABOUT:

$uicideboy$ dig light out of the deepest corners of darkness, addiction, hopelessness, and pain. The New Orleans-bred duo of cousins—Scott Arcenaux, Jr. a.k.a. $crim and Aristos Petrou a.k.a. Ruby da Cherry—translate a fight against demons (seen and unseen) into a clever, caustic, and corrosively catchy apocalyptic vision of hip-hop pierced with punk intensity and laced with Southern flows. The world first met $uicideboy$ in 2014. After releasing dozens of projects and playing hundreds of sold-out shows, they’ve generated billions of streams and earned multiple RIAA certifications, including the platinum “…And To Those I Love, Thanks For Sticking Around” and gold “Carrollton,” “2nd Hand,” “Runnin’ Thru The 7th With My Woadies,” “Paris,” and “Kill Yourself (Part III).” Beyond their critical-acclaim from Billboard, XXL, Alternative Press, Pigeons and Planes, Hypebeast, Revolver, and more, they built their label G*59 Records into a bastion of independent talent and home to Night Lovell, Shakewell, Germ, Ramirez, and others. In 2022, the punk-rap duo landed in the Top 30 most-streamed artists across all genres and have climbed to the 92nd position of most-streamed artists of all-time with over 15 billion career streams. Their third official full-length LP Sing Me A Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation marked their 3rd consecutive Top 10 album debut on the Billboard Top 200. The album led to sold-out arena and amphitheater tours in the US and Europe followed by a top-billed performance spot at Coachella music festival in 2023.
