The Revolution 3 tour featuring The Cult, Stone Temple Pilots, and Bush stopped in at Jiffy Lube Live on Sunday night. The three bands are rotating headliners each night with each band playing roughly a sixty minute set. On this particular night Bush were the headliner with The Dirty Hooks opening things up followed by The Cult and Stone Temple Pilots.

Opening things up for the night were The Dirty Hooks from Las Vegas. The three piece band consisting of, Jenine Cali, Bobby McCall, and Anthony Ratto 3 recently released Kiss the Devil and Run, and the nights short five song set consisted mainly of material from the new release.

The Dirty Hooks Setlist: Cicada Tree, Kiss the Devil and Run, Badland Saints, No Good, and Midnight Runaway.

Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy, the only original members of The Cult took the stage first for their headlining set. The set started with “Wild Flower” from 1987’s Electric album and quickly dove deep into the band’s discography with “Rain” and “Spiritwalker” from ’84 and ’85. Ian’s vocals sounded just as good as they did back in the ’80’s and ’90’s and with Duffy’s amazing guitar riffs fans weren’t disappointed as the band ripped thru hits like, “Fire Woman, “Sweet Soul Sister”, and “Love Removal Machine.”

The Cult Setlist: Wild Flower, Rain, Spiritwalker, The Witch, Sweet Soul Sister, Elemental Light, Rise, She Sells Sanctuary, The Phoenix, Fire Woman, and Love Removal Machine.

STP came out next fronted by new vocalist Jeff Gutt. They got things started with “Wicked Garden” and ran thru hit after hit of STP classics. The shortened headlining set only contained two new songs off the groups latest self-titled album which were “Meadow,” and “Roll Me Under.” Overall Gutt gets the job done singing the classics, but for die-hard STP fans their’s just no replacing the late Scott Weiland. As mush as fans want to hear the classics, maybe it’s time for STP to move on and concentrate more on new material with Gutt as the front man.

Stone Temple Pilots Setlist: Wicked Garden, Vasoline, Big Bang Baby, Down, Big Empty, Plush, Meadow, Interstate Love Song, Roll Me Under, Dead & Bloated, Trippin’ on a Hole in a Paper Heart, and Sex Type Thing.

90’s icons Bush closed out the night with an energy filled ten song set of classic hits. The set did include “This Is War” from their latest release, Black and White Rainbows. The song blended in well with classics like “Machinehead,” “The Chemicals Between Us,” “Everything Zen,” “Glycerine,” and “Comedown.” Also mixed into the set was The Beatles’ cover of “Come Together.” During “Little Things” Gavin left the stage and took to the crowd as he made his way thru the pavilion getting up close and personal with the fans. Gavin proved to all those in attendance that he still has the voice and energy to continue to play to large crowds after twenty-six years in the industry.

Bush Setlist: Machinehead, The Chemicals Between Us, The Sound of Winter, Everything Zen, This Is War, Swallowed, Come Together (The Beatles cover), Glycerine, Little Things, and Comedown.
