“Their most daring and profound album so far… perhaps just the thing that indie fans need at such a time as this”  – Ultimate Guitar

Today AWOLNATION releases the new album, ANGEL MINERS & THE LIGHTNING RIDERS, via Better Noise Music. The album features the hit “The Best,” the group’s seventh  Top 5 Alternative Radio track.  An alternate version of “The Best” featuring Alice Merton, released in March, has since been added at radio stations and at streaming services around the world.

The album also includes features from Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros on “Mayday!! Fiesta Fever” and  Rivers Cuomo of Weezer on the single “Pacific Coast Highway (In The Movies).”

The video for “Pacific Coast Highway (In The Movies)” is a foray into animation, directed by Ravi Dhar and animated by Lessa Millett.  “It depicts cartoonish L.A. beach life, literally – as an animated cartoon. The promise of Pacific Coast Highway is a glamorous and beautiful open road, but in reality it’s more of a slow moving traffic jam. It’s showing when fantasy meets real life,” says Aaron Bruno, vocalist and mastermind behind the band.

AWOLNATION’s tour with Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness, Bleeker and The Beaches, regrettably had to be cancelled due to Corona Virus restrictions. To keep in touch with fans, Bruno has been hosting live broadcasts on Instagram with his circle of friends, including some notable names.

In the past 3 weeks he has interviewed 15 people and has reached over 4 million people.  His purpose with this series, as with the album, is to unite people and to work through what is going on in the world now.  His guests have included Alice Merton (with whom he collaborated on “The Best”), Elohim, Taylor Hanson (Hanson), Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses), Dr. Woo (tattoo artist), Conner Coffin (pro surfer), Tyler Glenn (Neon Trees), Tim McIlrath (Rise Against), Cam Duddy (Midland) and Finneas O’Connell – brother of and collaborator with Billie Eilish (a clip of which can be seen HERE).

AWOLNATION recognizes that live shows are not possible without so many incredibly hardworking crew members behind the scenes of each and every concert. The band and Better Noise Music are supporting them through the Live Nation #CrewNation Fund by donating a portion of every purchase made at https://shop.bandwear.com/awolnation (for a limited time frame) to the cause. @livenation is donating $10 million: $5M upfront + matching the next $5M.

Aaron Bruno, the songwriter and architect behind AWOLNATION, wrote and recorded one of the most influential songs of the previous decade with the chart-topping, record-breaking track “Sail.” The first single off the platinum Megalithic Symphony (2011), “Sail” is certified Diamond (10 million) and holds the record for the most weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart by an independent artist, the second longest for any artist.  The debut album also produced the Gold certified “Not Your Fault” and two other Top 10 US singles.  Across the span of 4 albums, AWOLNATION has notched seven Top 5 Alternative Radio hits, including two #1’s, and has accumulated millions of sales, downloads and over 1.5 billion streams globally. The music has been used in dozens of films, television shows and commercials around the world, and songs have been the genesis of viral sensations garnering hundreds of millions of streams and views across platforms like Instagram, Vine, TikTok, YouTube, etc.
