“[‘Planet Zero’] is a hard-hitting, full-on rock experience…with a blatant warning—lose connection and lose humanity.” – Parade

“The stomping heavy rock track (‘Planet Zero’) gave context and focus for the entire album – a high-concept treatise on societal affairs during the past 22 months, including the travails of living through a pandemic, the pitfalls of social media, mental health issues, political divisiveness, partisan media and cancel culture.” – Billboard

“The music grabs and shakes as much as it provokes the brain.” – American Songwriter

Multi-platinum rock band Shinedown – one of the most successful, vital and forward-thinking powerhouses in modern rock over the last two decades, who were named #1 on Billboard’s Greatest Of All Time Mainstream Rock Artists Chart in 2021 – is hitting the road this year in support of their seventh studio album Planet Zero, out this April, with their biggest stage show yet, propelled by the undeniable power of front man Brent Smith’s voiceThe Revolution’s Live Tour, their 24-date headlining Spring outing featuring special guests The Pretty Reckless and DIAMANTE, two exciting female-fronted rock acts, will be stopping locally in Baltimore on Wednesday, April 20 at Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena. Tickets are on sale now; visit www.shinedown.com for all details.

Planet Zero, due out April 22 on Atlantic Records, features the hard-hitting title track, the band’s newest single that has already amassed over 7 million streams since its release at the end of January, and just notched the band their 18th #1 at Active Rock Radio last week. The explosive and thought-provoking single is also Shinedown’s 17th #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs Chart, breaking a new record (which they also previously held) for the most #1s in the 40-year history of the chart and tying Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers for the second most Top 10s on the chart, behind only Foo Fighters. PRESS HERE to watch the recently released official music video for “Planet Zero,” which brings to life a glimpse of a dystopian future (complete with a menacing A.I. character named Cyren from the album’s interludes, who we hear at the end of the music video) that warns of the dangerous dehumanizing consequences of cancel culture run rampant, and PRESS HERE to listen to “Planet Zero” on DSPs.

Shinedown’s most ambitious and masterfully realized work to date, Planet Zero is a high-concept, ultra-vivid, viscerally charged saga.  A critical yet optimistic look at the fractures and frays of a society that has undergone many challenges in the last few years, the album is part social commentary and part in-depth exploration of the human psyche.  Planet Zeroproduced by Shinedown’s Eric Bass (who also produced the band’s 2018 acclaimed album ATTENTION ATTENTION), was written for everyone regardless of background or affiliation – Shinedown is asking us to stop looking at each other as demographics or talking points and start seeing each other as people. There is also triumph, hope and reminders that we all need one another on this album. It is the band’s impassioned striving for unity that has long been at the heart of their creative output and deeply informed the making of Planet Zero. Not only a driving force for their songwriting, the band’s humanitarian outlook also led Shinedown to be one of the first artists to work with Direct Relief in the early days of the pandemic, raising more than $400,000 with their “Atlas Falls” relief effort.

Planet Zero follows the band’s 2018 Gold-certified, chart-topping and acclaimed album ATTENTION ATTENTIONShinedown recently brought the LP to life in a riveting feature film. A visual counterpart to the album’s narrative about a mental health journey and the resolve of the human spirit, the ATTENTION ATTENTION film weaves together the album’s 14 songs into a provocative and thought-provoking cinematic story that illuminates yet another dimension of Shinedown’s limitless creativity. PRESS HERE to watch the trailer. The film, directed by Bill Yukich (Beyoncé, Metallica, Wiz Khalifa), is available for viewing on digital and cable VOD in the U.S. and Canada via iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Vudu, Comcast, Dish Network, Verizon Fios, and Mediacom, and is also available for purchase on Blu-ray and DVD – PRESS HERE to purchase and watch. It will soon be available in other international territories.
