Sydney metal crew Like Royals have released brand new single Wither Away; an intense five minutes of metal power taking cues from the sub-genre Melodic Metalcore while confronting the battle between sobriety and addiction.

To celebrate this next incredible step Like Royals and mates Brave Today will be setting out on a massive eight date tour through January and February stopping in to visit a number of locations across the east coast.

LIKE ROYALS confront addiction demons in music video WITHER AWAYWither Away is a deeply personal song from the Like Royals crew confronting a major issue in modern society in the hopes of generating a small amount of change.

“The song is ultimately about the battle of sobriety versus intoxication, throughout the song lyrics and instrumentation convey a distinct dark atmosphere,” said vocalist, Landon Kirk.

“Many of the lyrics in the song point out the fact that our problems are still very much real regardless of the temporary relief a substance can provide us,” said guitarist, Alex Kresojevic.

This distinct dark atmosphere is delivered in the instrumentation by a darting, disorientating lead guitar riff played through the entirety of the song and drilling, rhythmic bass; a mainstay in the Melodic Metalcore sub-genre.

The Wither Away tour will be the largest in Like Royals’ history stopping in through Tamworth, Central Coast, Canberra, Toowoomba, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong.

Like Royals have seen huge success throughout the local Australian scene after releasing their first single Speak in Tongues in early 2015.

Since then the band has recorded and released their debut EP ‘To Whom It May Concern’ with Richie Newman from Buried in Verona fame.

Like Royals have shared the stage with a number of high profile local bands such Make Them Suffer, Stories, Belle Haven and Stepson.
