Puddle of Mudd's Welcome to Galvania

Puddle of Mudd is releasing their 6th studio album after 8 years! Welcome to Galvania is scheduled to release this September. Frontman Wes Scantlin says “I’m just so happy to finally get it out there for my fans. I hope the new music inspires my fans to live their lives. I’m just trying to crawl under people’s skin and help them through their life musically.” This album definitely has that effect and I loved it! As a fan of Puddle of Mudd, I’m happy to see them back in the studio and pumping out some rock. “I have a lot more rock ‘n’ roll to share with the world,” says Wes, so fans can rejoice that this is just the beginning of more to come.

Opening the album with “You Don’t Know,” starts the album with great energy with heavy guitar and drums, adding a heaviness to their sound. The song seems to speak about what Wes has overcome with lyrics of “You don’t know what it’s like to live in my world. You don’t know what it’s like to be in my head…I’m stronger now.” It’s the ultimate come back song and fans can relate to it in their everyday life.

“Uh-oh” is their newest single, just releasing a video. “Uh oh, I f***ed it up again, where do I begin?” The melody is so catchy, and the lyrics are so relatable. Along with the hilarious visuals of their music video, this is my favorite song that’s a perfect fit in Puddle of Mudd’s repertoire.

“Go To Hell” is another favorite of mine. I love the rhythmic guitar intro and the harmonic vocals that open it up. The lyrics “I know you want to run from all the pain…Everybody wants to get to heaven, but most of you have got to go through hell.” make this another great comeback song. I had expected a song called “Go To Hell” to be a great Screw You song, but it was surprising and encouraging to just get through the dark times–we all go through our own hells to get to heaven.

I can’t wait for this album to release. Any Puddle of Mudd fan, new and old, are bound to enjoy it! The personal themes throughout the songs and the balance of their classic sound and slower songs make the 8-year wait worth it for this album.

Make sure you pre-order your album, releasing September 13, and follow Puddle of Mudd for live show updates.
