Speaking with RevolverMag.com, vocalist/guitarist Jim Rota says: So a few years ago I saw Metallica play at the Wiltern Theater and afterwards the group of us decided to go drinking at the Rainbow with Lemmy. When we got to the Rainbow we all proceeded to consume our beverages and get more and more fun as the night went on, and I got into a conversation with Lem about what his best words were that he ever wrote. He kept saying that “1916” were the best lyrics he ever wrote but I told him I disagreed and he said oh yeah “then what are the best lyrics I ever wrote?” And I replied that’s easy “I Don’t Believe A Word” are the best words you ever wrote.” And I could see the total shock on his face and I said “why that face” and he said “how the hell would we ever play that live; who would sing back ups?” And then I quickly responded to him “and the second-best is Orgasmatron.” And we both cracked up.

Rota continues: “I thought it would be a fitting tribute on this record for us to do the song stripped down to pay tribute to him and try to show the world what a great songwriter he really was. Great songs always seem to translate no matter how you interpret them. That said I bet he would hate this version, but hopefully not!!

Only a week remains until the release of Fireball Ministry’s long-awaited new album, Remember The Story. The new record is well worth the wait too. The band’s first album in nearly seven years delivers their tried and true signature stomp and fuzzy swing with an even broader scope and deeper emotional range.
