Third Annual Earth Rocker Festival Takes Over Shiley Acres In Inwood, WV 7-13-2019

Shiley Acres played host to the 3rd annual Earth Rocker Festival this past weekend. This year’s festival featured Killswitch Engage, Cro-Mags, Fireball Ministry, and as with every show at Shiley Acres The School of Rock. Fans braved the heat and filled the venue for a great day of music featuring co-headlining sets by Killswitch Engage, who made their debut at Shiley Acres, and Clutch who have made the venue the home of their annual Earth Rocker Festival. The co-headling tour will run thru August 4th when it wraps up in  Worcester, MA.

Getting things started for the day were The School of Rock, who the Shiley’s always have as part of their lineups. This gives the students a chance to play in front of a live crowd as well as share the stage with some of the top touring bands passing thru the area.

First up on the touring package were Fireball Ministry and Cro-Mags who both got the crowd warmed up for the day.

Killswitch Engage are set to release their upcoming album, Atonement on August 16th, fans can purchase the album HERE. The guys gave fans a tast of the new material when they performed “I Am Broken Too” from the upcoming release. The days set was full of KSE hits, and it didnt take long for the crowd to kick up some dust with a mosh pit.

Killswitch Engage Setlist: Strength of the Mind, This Fire, The Arms of Sorrow, My Curse, I Am Broken Too, Alone I Stand, Beyond the Flames, Unleashed, Hate by Design, Always, My Last Serenade, This Is Absolution, Rose of Sharyn, The End of Heartache, In Due Time, and Holy Diver (Dio cover).

During Clutch’s brief hiatus from touring the band took time to hit the studio to record what they are calling the Weathermaker Vault Series. The guys plan to release singles from the recordings over the course of the summer and have given little details to the material that will be released. So far they have released two singles from the recordings, both being covers. The first to be released was Cactus’ “Evil” followed by ZZ Top’s “Precious and Grace,” which the guys performed as part of their headlining set.
