Common Ground Music Festival Day 6

Pop star Daya was the first artist on the Auto Value main stage on a the gorgeous Sunday night. Daya provided a very impressive performance, she performed some of her hit songs including “Hideaway,” “Sit Still,” and “Look Pretty.” The front row of the festival was filled with young teenage girls singing along word for word to all of her songs.

Kid Quill, from Indianapolis, Indiana hit the stage with energetic approach. The 22-year-old rapper definitely gives fans in the audience a personal up close experience taking their cell phones and taking a selfie with them, he really connected with the audience. Kid Quill definitely impressed me.  After Quill graduates college he is persuing his music career.

From the east side of Detroit Karlos Farrar played the Pavillion stage Sunday night, his 30 minute set showcased his R&B talents. He performed his single which was released April 2016 “Ice Kream Man.” His career is just getting started. Check out his upcoming tour “Ice Kream Man Tour.”

Headliner Jason Derulo took to the stage at 9:30 in support to his latest album Everything is 4, which was released June of 2015.  Derulo and his dancers owned the entire stage and catwalk.  They put on a very exciting crowd rousing show.

One highlight was crowd favorite “Want To Want Me.” The crowd went insane when he started playing it and were singing along word for word with Derulo.  He performed many of his platinum singles, including  “In My Head,” It Girl,’ “Ridin’ Solo,” “Don’t Wanna Go Home,” and “Whatcha Say.”  My personal favorite of the night was his high energy performance of “Wiggle” The only thing lacking with his perfomance was the absence of Snoop Dogg!

Derulo knows his way around the stage and was very entertaining to the entire audience.  Derulo’s performance was an impressive way to close out the Common Ground Festival.   See you in 2017!
