BulletBoys show Lexington how it’s done with Enuff Z’Nuff and Pump 5.

It’s a Sunday night in Lexington, Kentucky and moments before platinum-selling artists BulletBoys are set to take the stage the smallish but enthusiastic crowd is pushing their way towards the the front for a chance to get up close and personal with the guys. Instantly the house lights drop and frontman and original member Marq Torien leads the guys into their opening songs, “Whatcha Don’t”, familiar fan favorite “Hard as a Rock”, and “Hell on My Heels”

On stage Marq and the guys are pouring out energy as ”THC Groove,” “Symphony” and a blazing rendition of The O’Jays cover “For the Love of Money” come rolling off the stage in rapid-fire succession. Not much for onstage banter, Marq did take a moment to thank everyone for coming out and announcing that this tour is special because his brother has joined them on this tour before the guys launch into an Elton John Cover of  “The Bitch Is Back” before closing their all too short set with their mega-hit “Smooth Up In Ya” joined center stage by his brother on vocals.

Onstage with Marq Torien is guitarist Nick Rozz, bassist Chad MacDonald and drummer Anthony “Tiny” Biuso.

Providing the main support this evening was Chicago based Enuff Z’Nuff. With his usual flair and flamboyance, and his giant cap and oversized sunglasses, Chip Z’Nuff, bounds on stage as the guys immediately roll into fan favorite “Baby Loves You”, the first single from the Strength album, followed by “Kiss The Clown” and the fun’s just getting started.

Taking a minute to address the small but enthusiastic crowd Chip announces “It has been a long time since I’ve been here in Lexington, it’s a lovely city, our time here has been great. This next song is off our first album and one of my favorite songs” as the opening chords of the bass-heavy “In The Groove” fills the venue.  An Enuff Z’Nuff spin on the classic guitar solo follows with Tory Stoffregen center stage enjoying a bottle of red wine (yes, a bottle of wine) while Chip, standing behind him, tears through the solo without being able to see Tory’s guitar.

Enuff Z’Nuff finished up their set with a lively David Bowie cover of “The Jean Genie” followed by the title track “Diamond Boy” from their recently released (and 14th) studio album.   “Do you remember when MTV played music, we do!” Chip announces. “This was a smash hit for us is back in the day” as the familiar “Fly High Michelle” lights up the room.

Chip Z’Nuff told the crowd we are out on the Live Nation Presents, Sirus XM’s Hair Nation tour with Jack Russel’s Great White and The BulletBoys. Eddie Trunk is also out for select states on the tour as well.  On the off dates, we are picking up shows nearby where we can and appreciate seeing everyone. “Our last Our last song, “New Thing” is really a celebration of life, thank you all very much, I hope you all live to be 100 years old – God bless you all!

Almost immediately after the set, Chip Z’Nuff was in the crowd, shaking hands with everyone around, generally having a good time which was great to see.

Enuff Z’nuff is Chip Z’nuff: vocals/bass, Tony Fennell and Tory Stoffregen: guitar with Dan Hill on drums.

Opening the evening were Southern California rockers Pump 5. With a 30-minute set of classic, riff-heavy old school metal, Pump 5 definitely got the party started!
