Welcome To Rockville 2018 Day 3 Recap

Day 3 continued to see record breaking crowds fill the festival grounds as over 90 thousand fans came out to see their favorite bands over the three day event. Fans had plenty of food and drink choices to choose from as they tried to stay cool in the Florida heat. Places like Cousins Main Lobster, Island Noodles, Knuckle Sandwiches, Guana Bana Ice Pops, Brucci’s Pizza, and Grumpy’s Homemade Ice Cream were just some of the choices fans had to choose from. For those looking for more of an adult beverage the festival also had plenty to choose from, Tool’s Maynard James Keenan had his Caduceus Cellars & Merkin Vineyard Wine Garden on site. Other vendors on site were the Heavy Tiki Bar offering island cocktails and Mrkt N Jolt offering both hot and cold brewed coffee. For fans of the main sponsor, Monster Energy there was a special viewing deck set up where fans could receive free Monster Energy drinks and watch all the action on the Monster Energy Stage. 

The last day of the weekend saw bands like Fireball Ministry, The Sword, Red Fang, The Fever 333, Greta Van Fleet, Thrice, Bullet For My Valentine, Clutch, Billy Idol, Queens Of The Stone Age, Baroness, and Foo Fighters take to the stages.

The three piece band consisting of Jason Butler on vocals, Stevis Harrison on guitars, and Aric Improta on drums put on one of the best performances of the day over on the River Stage. Fans can look for big things to come for this band.

Greta Van Fleet is a band that just continues to grow and grow, Their performance on the Monster Energy Stage showed fans why their tour is sold out across the country and they remain to be one of the hardest tickets to get.

Welcome To Rockville 2018 Day 3 RecapThrice performed their mid-day set over on the Metropolitan Stage. The set consisted of eight songs including fan favorites “Black Honey,” and “Hurricane.”

Bullet For My Valentine who is currently out on tour with Trivium took to the Monster Energy Stage for a short 35 minute set that ended with the single, “Waking the Demon.”

Welcome To Rockville 2018 Day 3 RecapClutch were a crowd favorite over on the Metropolitan Stage, singer Neil Fallon always brings the energy to the stage. The band played a nine song 40 minute set. Look for Clutch to host their 2nd annual Earth Rocker festival this August when they perform at Shiley Acres in Inwood, WV.

Welcome To Rockville 2018 Day 3 RecapBilly Idol showed that he still has what it takes to perform in front of record crowds when played the Monster Energy Stage. The set included classics like, “Dancing With Myself,” “Flesh for Fantasy,” “Rebel Yell,” and closed out with “White Wedding.”

Baroness closed out the River Stage for the weekend with a 12 song set.

Welcome To Rockville 2018 Day 3 RecapThe Queens Of The Stone Age closed out the Metropolitan Stage for the day and for the festival weekend with an eleven song set. The set included some of the bands more noteable songs like, “No One Knows,” “Little Sister,” and “Go With the Flow.”

Welcome To Rockville 2018 Day 3 RecapThe Foo Fighters took to the Monster Energy Stage under a full moon and to the largest crowd Welcome to Rockville has ever had to date to close out the days and weekends events. The 2 hour set consisted of 18 songs that saw Billy Idol join the guys on stage for John Lennon’s cover of “Gimme Some Truth,” and even saw John Travolta making an appearance during the bands medley. Another highlight of the set was the cover of “Under Pressure” that saw drummer Taylor Hawkins take over on vocals while Dave went back on drums.
