Voice of Addiction's The Art of Empathy
Hey punk fans, have you been rejoicing over the newest release from Voice of Addiction? If you didn’t know it was out there, you’re truly missing out. When you listen you can expect a return to political punk music. They couldn’t have created this at a better time in history. The Art of Empathy is raw and energetic.

Chicago’s VOA is Ian JohnnyX on vocals and bass, Andy Ducey on drums, and Ricky Hendrix on guitar.

This album has been out since last year. It is twelve tracks of pure adrenaline in the disguise of punk music. It will make you angry, it will make you think, and it will make you happy that you’re a fan of punk music.

One of the songs that stands out the most is “Unity”. “Because I still believe, that with Unity, everything can be achieved/I will not be knocked down, together we will stand our ground.” However, the entire album is well put together and is worth a listen.

“Corporate Pariah” is another song that will stick in your head. It starts with an anthemic sound, leading into an almost Ska sound, but then remains pure punk to the core.

If you call yourself a punk, you should already own this album. It’s probably the best political album since Anti-Flag’s 2003 release, The Terror State.

VOA is on tour the next few months, so catch ’em live if you get a chance. Punk shows are always the best.

This onslaught of punk rebellion is brought to you by the good people of Whiplash Pr & Marketing, www.whiplashpr.com.
