Sevendust delivers a powerhouse performance for hungry Lexington, Kentucky fans with Memphis May Fire, Fire From The Gods and Madam Mayhem.
On what turned out to be an almost unbearably hot evening in the Commonwealth of Kentucky a frenetic crowd of metallers welcomed Sevendust with open arms. Touring in support of their twelfth studio album, All I see is War which was released on May 11, Sevendust was playing their first ever show in Lexington.
Copious amounts of fog and smoke billowed from the stage as the house lights dropped and “This is America” by Childish Gambino blared from the overhead sound system. One by one the guys sauntered onto the nearly dark stage, almost instantly launching into the hit single from the New Album “Dirty” and the evening was off to a rocket-like start. Just before Sevendust’s third song, “Pieces” lead singer Lajon Witherspoon spotted a pregnant woman standing at the barrier and brought her over the barrier so she could watch the show, unobstructed from the photo pit – it was a real class move.
Over the next 90-minutes Sevendust gave the appreciative Lexington fans everything they could ask for, performing songs from their vast catalog including an awesome performance of “Angel’s Son” as well as a hot new song “Medicated” from the All I see is War album.
Sevendust closed out the evening with a blazing performance of “Bitch” followed immediately by “Face To Face”, leaving everyone in attendance hot, sweaty and thoroughly satisfied.

Providing support is the Dallas, Texas-based Christian metalcore band Memphis May Fire. On the cramped stage, MMF rolled through a dynamic set of songs spanning all 5 of their studio albums including an awesome rendition of “Carry On” that was well received. Lead Singer Matty Mullins was all over the small stage, at one point warning that he would most likely fall off the edge of the stage, asking only that he get some help from the fans in front to get back up on stage.
Returning to Kentucky for the first time since The Louder Than Life Festival in Late September, Fire From The Gods don’t miss a beat with an outstanding set. The tight Manchester Music Hall stage didn’t stop frontman AJ Channer and the guys from delivering their typical high energy performance leaving the fans wanting more.
Starting the evening off in a great way, with a rocking set of alternative rock was Manhattan, NY based Madam Mayhem.
