The “Blonde Bomber,” Michael Schenker kicked off his North American tour last night at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD last night. The tour which is billed as the ‘Micheal Schenker Fest’ features vocalists Gary Barden, Graham Bonnet, Robin McAuley, and Doogie White all sharing the stage with Schenker as they play classic Michael Schenker Group and Michael Schenker Temple of Rock tracks. The current leg of the tour will run thru April 3rd when it wraps up in Tampa, FL. Fans can purchase tickets for the upcoming shows HERE.
Michael Schenker released his latest album Resurrection on March 2nd, the album features guest appearances by Metallica’s Kirk Hammet as well as Wayne Findlay and Michael Voss-Schon. All four vocalists, Gary Barden, Graham Bonnet, Robin McAuley, and Doogie White also make contributions on the album.
Fans were greeted to a two hour set of 30 songs that spanned Michael Schenker’s career. The night kicked off with “Into the Arena” with Gary Barden quickly joining Schenker on stage for five Michael Schenker Group tracks. Graham Bonnet, Robin McAuley, and Doogie White each followed with five songs for each of their sets. The night wrapped up with four vocalists on stage performing classic UFO songs, “Shoot Shoot,” “Natural Thing,” “Rock Bottom,” and “Doctor Doctor.”
