Mark Rogers’ Rearranged

Mark Rogers' Rearranged
There are millions of singer/songwriters out there to listen to, but some of them are far more talented than others. One of the talented ones hails from Virginia. Mark Rogers is a fan of the Beatles, and even though his music isn’t Brit pop or classic pop sounding, it has kind of a mellow sound that will still make you feel warm, fuzzy and nostalgic.

For someone who came into music early in his life and then gave it up to raise a family, you can’t even tell that he took a break. This music is well-written and well-played.

This EP, Rearranged, came out last year, but Rogers intends to release a full album this year.

Some songs, like “Right Here,” start out with a bit of a country vibe, but soon you’ll realize that this is not country music. There is a touch of folk in the tracks, but it’s more of a mellow rock/folk alternative sound that would best describe the overall feel of the music.

“Slow Parade” has a little bit of a vintage sound, just on the edges. The lyrics feel so simple, but they delve so deep into life and relationships. The guitar stands out so much on these beautiful acoustic tracks. You never feel like the music is trying to empower you.

If you’re looking for an A+ folk release that will let you slow down and enjoy life again, this is the EP to check out. It’s available on Bandcamp, https://markrogers1.bandcamp.com/album/rearranged.
