Ghost At The Dominion Energy Center 12/4/2018

Ghost brought their ‘A Pale Tour Named Death’ tour to Richmond’s Carpenter Theater at Dominion Energy Center for a sold out show on Tuesday night.

Ghost released their latest release, Prequelle back in June and have been touring in support of the album since. The album has seen quite a bit of success hitting the number three spot on the US Billboard 200 charts and has seen the single “Rats” getting plenty of radio play. Fans can purchase the album HERE

You often here people throw the term ‘must see tour’ around pretty loosely, but for any Ghost fan, this truly is a must see tour. The band has raised the bar on all aspects from production to sound. Many weren’t sure what to expect from a theater tour, but the theater is where this tour truly belongs.

With no opening band fans were treated to a twenty-six song set that lasted nearly three hours. The night kicked off with the intro “Ashes,” the curtain rose, and Ghost took the stage by launching into “Rats” from their latest release.

The first act featured songs like “Devil Church,” “Cirice,” the acoustic “Jigolo Har Meggiddo” and an appearance by Papa Nihil performing a saxophone solo on “Miasma.” There was a brief fifteen minute intermission between act 1 and act 2 allowing fans to head out and take care of any necessities before heading back in for act 2. The lights dimmed and fans were greeted with “Masked Ball” as they returned to their seats, the curtain rose and the second act got under way with “Spirit,” “From the Pinnacle to the Pit,” and “Majesty.”

Just a few of the highlights of the second act were, “Year Zero,” “He Is,” and “Mummy Dust” with the night wrapping up with “Square Hammer.” Ghost returned to the stage to perform “Monstrance Clock” as their encore.

The current leg of the tour is slated to wrap up on December 15th in Brooklyn, NY. Fans in the U.S. will have to wait until spring for the band to return to the states when they play the inaugural Sonic Temple & Music Fest in Columbus, OH. A U.S. tour is sure to accompany the festival dates.
