Evanescence stream performance to fans, giving them a little taste of what is to come in 2021.

Bundling up on the couch to enjoy watching your favorite bands and artists perform their newest music was a rare event back in the day. But with new times, comes new forms of entertainment. And while I desperately miss the live music scene, and the energy it brings; I do not miss the travel expenses. With that being said, I am starting to kind of accept that we may be entering a time where most performances will be done virtually. I just need to find a friend or two who will mosh with me in my living room.

I had the privilege to watch Evanescence perform songs from their new album, The Bitter Truth. It is set to release on March 26th, 2021. Preorders for the new album and a recording of the live session from the December 5th stream is available at https://evanescencelive.com/pages/livestream.

I love that they played some of their most popular songs from past releases, such as “The Only One”, and “Going Under”. They also played a beautiful rendition of Portishead’s “GLORY BOX” that ended the streaming in a nice smooth finish.

I would have enjoyed this event so much more if they had made it more of a theatrical performance. I would have loved to have seen Amy in a full black gown. With some cool back lighting, and scenery to compliment the music. And maybe, had the whole band been in the same room, it would have given off more energy. But, with the Covid situation, and members of the band being in different countries at the time made that a little impossible.

Thankfully, Amy Lee can capture you and take you to another world with her amazing voice alone, because if it weren’t for her voice constantly grabbing my attention, I probably would not have watched the whole thing. If you are a huge fan of Amy, you’ll love the Q and A session she did before they started to perform. So, go check it out, and get your preorders in!
