Escape the Fate’s I Am Human

Escape the Fate's I Am Human

Escape the Fate is a rock band that’s considered post-hardcore, but they also fall into the Emo genre. They’re able to perfectly blend the varied rock sounds into their own style. Their sixth full album released March 30, 2018, and they kicked off a tour with Papa Roach and Nothing More shortly after.

The simple album art is the perfect accompaniment to the title track, “I Am Human.” On the simple black background, a gold scale stands balanced in between a brain and a heart. In the title track, the song is about the balance of being human. “I am strong. I am weak. I am everything in between. I am proud to be me. I am human. I am weird. I’m a freak. I am different. I am unique. i will love who I please. I am human. you are just like me.”

The whole album has a flow to it with the harder tracks grouped together. The ninth song on the album, “Empire,” is the perfect transition track. It’s not quite one of their metal songs, but it has hardcore elements to transition from their more melodic tracks.

“Riot” is a great track about an epic party that you will not be getting your deposit back from. Play it at a rager with caution. “Digging My Own Grave” is the best track for that ultra hardcore sound they offer with heavy guitar and screaming lyrics of “The devil whispers to me. I’ll never be saved. The shovel pushes deeper and deeper, I’m digging my own grave.”

Their newest album is great. It shows how their style has evolved over the years, and it refuses to stay in the confines of one genre. I Am Human is available for purchase on all major music outlets. For band and tour updates, like their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/escapethefate
