Doyle torches Lexington with Sinful Lilly, Last of the Dodo and Octalux

On the opening few stops of their 2018 winter “As We Die” World Abomination tour Doyle, Frontman Alex Story, bassist Brandon Strate, and drummer Wade Murff receive a warm welcome as they assemble on stage. Almost instantly Doyle blasts into the high energy title track from their debut album “Abominator,” followed by “Beast Like Me,” “Headhunter” and “Valley of the Shadows” and the evening of off to a rocket-like start.

Doyle is in classic form this evening, with an ominous on-stage presence, shirtless and ripped, he tears through the songs with his patented shredding and punishing guitar playing style. Along with the amount of sheer energy pouring out of Alex Story, which seemed to intensify as the evening went on, he is a dynamo as he used every square inch of the stage tonight.

While the set might have been on the shorter side time-wise, it was Jam-packed from start to finish including several tunes from last year’s Doyle II: As We Die album including ”Darkside,” “Witchcraft,” and “We Belong Dead”.  In between songs Alex would announce the next “Love song which you can dance to if you want to” which the fans quickly caught on to by shouting out requests for a “love song” and moshing at every occasion.

A three-song encore set including “Kiss Me As We Die” and “Hope Hell is Warm” closed out the evening with the same relentless energy from the stage and the moshing in the pit, putting a huge exclamation point on a great evening of music with Doyle.

The Lexington, KY show was the 7th show of an incredible 74 date run continuing all the way to the end of the year – this show is certainly one not to miss!

Providing the main support was Richmond, KY-based Sinful Lilly.  Featuring dynamic duo of Fredi Handshoe (Lead Vocals/Guitar) and Nikki Valklix (Vocals/Bass) along with drummer Jimmy Wooten,  their all too short set of original songs were high energy and pure in your face Rock n’ Roll.  Sinful Lilly closed their set with the first single “Wait Your Turn” from their and upcoming full-length release “Devil Music and the Record Machine” due out at the end of 2018.

Last of the Dodo performed third with a fun and engaging set of Toon-Core/Swing-Thrash/ Carnival-Grind/Graveyard-Funk/Circus-Doom songs.  Last of the Dodo is Count Botis – drums, Doctor Malphas – guitar, Baron Stolas of Bass, trumpeter Duke Barbatos, Jarl Zagan…Keymaster, and Narrator Lord Bee L. Zebub

Starting the evening off with a solid set of metal/punk infused rock were Lexington based rockers Octalux.    Octalux is Hurly-guitars/vox, Tony Dell’Orfano -lead guitar/vox, Brent Dodds- bass/vox & Chase Gabbard -drums
