Dirty Honey’s Can’t Find the Brakes

Dirty Honey

Dirty Honey is releasing their second album, Can’t Find the Brakes. The album art features their signature lips and different vibrant colors of graffiti, painted by the world renowned artist, Kelly “RISK” Gravel, and it gives a feeling of “Can’t Stop” and before pressing play, I knew this album was going to go hard. Dirty Honey vocalist Marc LaBelle says “We decided to call the album ‘Can’t Find The Brakes’ because the title was almost a time capsule of our lives right now. We’re constantly on the move and living each day city by city. Sometimes being a touring musician can feel like you’re on a train going full speed, and even if you could find the brakes, would you really want to?”

This album has every ounce of Led Zeppelin in every note! While writing this review, I would pic a song as my favorite, only to have the next song replace it. But I’ll highlight the usual song that slightly steps outside of their signature style. Track 6, “Coming Home” starts with a beautiful acoustic guitar and angelic vocals in an almost folksy style. It highlights Marc’s vocals with beautiful soft high notes, then with him belting the chorus of “I’m Coming Home.” As always, I love the dialed down rock songs, and this one is incredible. The melody lulls you, and the sweet message is endearing and the harmonizing vocals showcase the bands musical range.

Track 3 is a favorite of mine, just cause it’s so relatable for me with the lyrics singing “I keep my hands clean, but you know I’ve got a dirty mind.”

The whole album has such a great energy throughout every song. Dirty hone’s capture a funky groove, and a hard sound with keeping the spirit of the classics in the blood of their sound. This album releases widely November 3 and you do NOT want to sleep on it!

Dirty honey is currently on tour with Guns N Roses. To view dates and to pre-save/pre-order their album, visit dirthoney.com and stay tuned to sidestagemagazine.com for news.
