The Black Crowes At Jiffy Lube Live, Bristow VA 9-22-2021

The Black Crowes brought their ‘$hake Your Money Maker’ tour to Jiffy Lube Live on Wednesday night. The tour is in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the debut album Shake Your Money Maker released in 1990. The tour had to be pushed to 2021 with all touring coming to a halt in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The tour also marks the long awaited, and highly anticipated reunion of the Robinson brothers, as well as the return of original bassist Sven Pipien. The tour which kicked off back in July will wrap up this Saturday in Bethel, NY, hopefully 2022 will see more touring from guys.

Starting things off on this rainy Wednesday night were Los Angeles’ Dirty Honey who are out touring in support of their self-titled debut album as part of their ‘California Dreamin’ tour. The guys played an extended opening set of roughly an hour consisting of nearly their entire catalog including the cover of Aerosmith’s “Last Child” thrown in for good measure.

Closing out the night were the one and only The Black Crowes, who sounded amazing as they played their debut album Shake Your Money Maker in its entirety. Many fans wondered if they would ever see the Robinson brothers share the same stage again, but the duo shocked fans when they announced they would be reuniting for the 30th anniversary of their debut album. The night was split into two different sets, with the first set being the songs from Shake Your Money Maker and the second set being rounded out with hits like, “Wiser Time,” “Thorn in My Pride,” and “Remedy” with the night wrapping up with an encore of Traffic’s “Feelin’ Alright?” Overall it was a great night of music, and The Black Crowes sounded amazing. Hopefully the Robinson brothers will decide to take things back out on the road in 2022.
