Cordova’s Runaway Summer

Cordova's Runaway Summer

Cordova is a hard rocking band from Las Cruces, New Mexico. They’ve opened for the likes of Buckcherry, Damage Inc., Drowning Pool, and Saliva. The bands they’ve played with kind of describe the sound you can expect to hear from them as well.

Cordova is Oliver Charity on vocals, Scott Guthrie on guitars, Jason Reed on bass, Erik Kurtz on guitars, and Mikey Stampede on drums.

Runaway Summer is the bands sophomore album. According to the press release, the band says, “We want to make you feel and think.” As you listen to the four tracks on this album, you will do just that.

“Hiding” is a song that any fan of hard rock will dig. It’s a head-nodding song that gets under the skin. Listen to the lyrics. The drums stand out on this track, as do the lyrics.

“Summer” is a delightfully mellow love-ish song. Charity’s vocals really give this song something extra. It’s the typical broken-hearted love song you expect from a hard rock band. This track almost has a KISS vibe to it.

“Trigger Happy” is by far the best song of the four, not that they aren’t all great. This song just has the biggest sound and the biggest message. Charity’s vocals show their power on this one as well.

“Weighted” rounds the album out with some cool distorted guitars and a little extra beat to get you moving.

You’ll love this album if you’re a hard rock fan. You’ll be begging for more. Check it out on Soundcloud- https://soundcloud.com/thecordovaband/sets/runaway-summer
