FEATURING MEMBERS OF THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, EXTOL, AND SEA + AIR

DEBUT ALBUM HEAVY YOKE OUT NOVEMBER 16

Members of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Extol, and Sea + Air have joined creative forces as Azusa and will sonically shock listeners with one of most experimental and mesmerizing releases of the year.

Azusa’s debut album Heavy Yoke will be released on November 16 via Solid State Records in the U.S.

The band has partnered with Revolver to premiere the new song “Heart of Stone.” Listen here.

“‘Heart of Stone’ is one of the more direct and ‘to the point’ tracks on the album,” the band told the publication. “It flirts with the punk/hardcore side of thrash and death metal and still saves room for weirder melodies and unpredictable shifts. Lyrically, this song sums up what the Heavy Yoke album is all about: There is a carnival of contrasts found in every soul, as in life itself. When changes in life bring instability, we’re often driven by negative forces like fear instead of love.”

Uniting the complementary skills of its members, Azusa’s sound is a thrash-fusion tour de force. Can you imagine Kate Bush fronting Slayer? Death collaborating with Annette Peacock? These allegedly incongruent influences dissolve seamlessly in an alluring sonic alchemy.
