“GOOBA” surpasses Taylor Swift’s “ME!” and Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next”  as fastest video to reach 100 Million views on YouTube by an American artist
 
“GOOBA” Goes Number One on Apple Music
 
Tekashi 6ix9ine released his first music in well over a year on Friday, May 8th with “GOOBA,” a single and video that set multiple records and proclaimed the return of one of music’s most polarizing figures.  
 
On YouTube, where “GOOBA” instantly became the Number One trending video on the platform, the clip was the biggest hip-hop debut of all time with 43.55 million views in a 24-hour period, becoming the 8th most viewed debut video ever on YouTube.  Now, less than three days after its release, “GOOBA” has surpassed Taylor Swift’s “ME!” and Ariana Grande’s  as the fastest video in history to reach 100 Million views on YouTube by an American artist.* “GOOBA” is being distributed globally by Create Music Group.
 
Over the weekend, the track reached the Number One position on Apple Music and rose to the Number 3 spot on Spotify’s U.S. Top 50 and Global Top 50 charts.
 
6ix9ine announced his return to music dramatically on Friday with a 13-minute appearance on Instagram Live which drew more than 2 million simultaneous viewers, crushing the previous record by almost 400%.
 
The groundswell of interest from fans thirsty for new music from 6ix9ine also propelled the rapper to become the Number One trending topic on Twitter on Friday, just hours after the release of “GOOBA.”
