Xombie is Helping Keep Rapcore Alive

If you’ve been missing the sounds of rapcore, that blend of rap and hardcore music, reminiscent of (Hed)PE, Limp Bizkit, and P.O.D., have no fear because there are still bands out there making the music you want to hear. One of them is Xombie, a rapcore band from New York City with a new release coming out in a couple of months. They just released the first song off that album, Might As Well.

Xombie has been around awhile, and have played live with such major acts as Otep, Psychostick, Bobaflex, Dope, and the aforementioned (Hed)PE. They got their start in 2010 and last toured in 2012. But with this new release on the way you can probably expect to see them touring soon.

Might As Well is nothing but pure rapcore. It has that rap sound with a metal undertone. It reminded me a lot of this band from Pennsylvania I used to like a lot, Backstreet Law. It has those dirty lyrics that make guys sing along and make girls either cringe or want to drop their pants (depending on which type of girls they are feeling like that night).

I am actually kind of surprised that rapcore and metalcore are still a thing these days, but I was kind of happy to hear this sound and get to reminisce about some old music in this genre I did like. While it’s not something I’ll be running out to buy anyone that still has some love for this type of music will surely be pleased.
