Wilson’s Tasty Nasty

Tasty Nasty was released August 24, 2018, by The Century Family, Inc. Wilson took a different approach when making this album by taking some inspiration from hip-hop and going more rock than their previous metal albums. This album is vibrant and has helped to solidify why fans like Wilson and their unique, DGAF style. This album features one of my favorite releases of 2018, “Like a Baller” and it spent 7 weeks on Billboard charts, peaking at number 35 September 22, 2018. Wilson is no stranger to the Charts. “Right to Rise” from their 2015 album Right to Rise spent twenty weeks on the Billboard Charts peaking at number 21 on November 28, 2015.

The band, formed in 2010 with members Chad Nicefield (Vocals), Jason Spencer (Guitar), Kyle Landry (Guitar), James Lascu (Bass) and Matt Puhy (Drums). These guys really stand out from the crowd with their choice of bright and colorful attire and were a recent fan favorite on Shiprocked 2019. They have been touring like crazy both in the U.S. and in the U.K. both as support and headliners, and they are also playing multiple festivals this year. They just played Welcome to Rockville and they are set to play at Epicenter as well this month.

As I said before, “Like a Baller” is my jam. But the album also has some other songs I really dig like “F**K up My High”. This is one that’s a hard hitter and if you dig remixes you can also check out Wilson’s latest release which is the remix of F**k Up My High that features Hyro the Hero (another fan favorite on Shiprocked 2019). I also love “Dumptruck” it is another good one. It is the first song on the album and it instantly grabs your attention by pulling you in with its hard and heavy beats.

This album is fun, funky and full of life. It feels like a tribute to the old party days of the 90s and I Iove that it takes me back to those days. It is available for purchase and download through Century Media, Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes Store, Amazon Music, Amazon, and Pandora.

I give Tasty Nasty a 7 out of 10
