While fans are still reeling from the double whammy deaths on The Walking Dead’s season premiere, they can release some pent up aggression with a TWD-approved band, Giraffe Tongue Orchestra. The debut album, Broken Lines (Party Smasher / Cooking Vinyl), from the hard rock ‘super group’ comprised of William DuVall of Alice In Chains, Ben Weinman of Dillinger Escape Plan, Brent Hinds of Mastodon, Pete Griffin of Dethklok and Thomas Pridgen of The Mars Volta, has been given a stamp of approval from Bear McCreary, the score composer for The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, and Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. He raved,

Giraffe Tongue Orchestra’s ‘Broken Lines’ is my favorite debut rock record in years. These remarkable musicians have crafted sick grooves, prog-influenced mixed meters, interesting harmonies and satisfying melodies. GTO expertly rides the razor-thin line between metal, rock and pop, borrowing everything I love about each genre and smashing it all together. ‘Blood Moon,’ ‘Back to the Light,’ ‘Everyone Gets Everything They Really Want’ and ‘Broken Lines’ will burn a hole in my speakers before I’m done blasting them.”

In addition to having the ominous musical mastermind in their corner, member Brent Hinds was also one of the first guests on Ride with Norman Reedus. In the much talked about episode the duo visit a New Orleans tattoo parlor to get new ink in honor of rock icon Lemmy of Motörhead. Watch a clip of the episode on AMC, HERE.
