Veer Union at Hooligans In Jacksonville, NC 5-18-2022

Written By: Zaneta Padilla

The Veer Union is back to touring for the first time in the US since 2019 for their new Manifestations album. They made a stop in Jacksonville, NC before their tour ends on May 29 with Late Night Savior and Heartsick on tour with them, and North Carolina bands Hollow Intent (catch them at Blue Ridge this September) and KVRB (not pictured) supporting them.

The venue offered an intimate environment for fans to connect with the bands, followed by fans meeting members at the merch tables after the set. The night felt like more than a concert, but like a big family with that connection built between the bands and fans, and ending with members from Late Night Savior and Heartsick joining Veer Union on stage for a collaboration.

Even with the intimate setting for the midweek performance, Veer Union came out with an arena-level energy. With hair flying on stage, and guttural screams reverberating through the hall. Every member played with an infectious passion where everyone in the audience wore the biggest smile as they sang along. And when Numb started playing, in unison, the entire concert hall started screaming the Linkin Park lyrics.

These Canadian musicians are the most humble and nicest musicians I’ve met, and I watched them interact with their fans with genuine gratitude. If you get the chance to see them near you, get a ticket and go and welcome Veer Union back to the States. The remainder of their tour dates are:
