The Sandboys’ Wish For The Best

The Sandboys' Wish For The Best

The Sandboys are a creative musical outlet that brings you catchy tunes to the strumming of a ukulele. They call their particular musical style Cellele music. The band’s description of this strange style is “quirky songs that range sonically from the cheerfulness of the ukulele to the broody and emotive cello (and everything in between).”

Each song is an earworm, and you’ll enjoy the lyrics that tell stories to a beat that will entrance you.

The Sandboys, hailing from England, have a new EP available that you’ve just gotta listen to. Wish For The Best has six songs that are sure to make you addicted to this band and their musical style.

The title track has a sound that is reminiscent of Hawaiian Luau music, with a little bit of a ska edge to it. This is some extremely unique and eclectic music. You’ll like the positive note of the lyrics on this track. The vocals are calm and beautiful. This song almost has a bit of a Beatles vibe to it too.

Each song offers something a little different, but each of them seems to have a vintage sound (hence The Beatles comparison). “Drive You On” speeds things up some, and has a bit of a hillbilly/country sound. “Count Me In” is a little jazzy, a little calypso, and a lot of cool. “Like I Used To Be” has some pop sensibilities, while “Path Of Least Resistance” begins with an eerie gothic sound and has a melancholy vibe throughout. “More Than Enough” finishes the album off much like it began.

This is most definitely a five-star EP. You really should check it out. https://soundcloud.com/mark-s-miller/sets/the-sandboys-ep-march-2018
