BONESTEEL TEAMS UP WITH MCKENNA HANER ON MONSTROUS NEW SINGLE “UPSIDE DOWN”
Los Angeles hard rockers Bonesteel are releasing their new single “Upside Down” which features McKenna Haner as a guest vocalist.
Bonesteel vocalist Jake Bonesteel describes the song as “a dark love song with a waltz feel, heavy guitars, and a vocal duet.” The song derived from guitarist Alex Cain presenting the intro guitar riff to producer Gus Cryns (Anti Flag, Butcher Babies) on their second day of recording together. The feature from McKenna Haner initially came to be when a teacher at Musicians Institute introduced Haner and Cain. “A mutual instructor of ours had introduced us, but I already knew who she was at the time. I knew that she had an amazing voice, so when we had the idea to feature a female vocalist, I reached out to her and she was more than happy to do it” said Cain. “Upside Down” is the fourth single to be released by Bonesteel this year.
Bonesteel’s previous single “Within These Walls” has reached a success of over a quarter million streams on Spotify alone, and has been included on multiple Spotify Editorial playlists. In early 2019, the band entered a distribution deal with AWAL, owned by Kobalt Publishing. Bonesteel has opened for bands such as Fozzy, Adelitas Way, Gemini Syndrome, Miss May I, Attila, and many more.

McKenna Haner is a singer/songwriter/instrumentalist from Orange County, CA. She is the sister of Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Synyster Gates, and the daughter of musician/comedian Brian Haner and hypnotist Suzy Haner. McKenna has graduated from schools such as the Orange County School of the Arts and Musicians Institute. Haner’s song “Your Girlfriend” was featured in the 2018 film “I’ll Be Watching” featuring actress Janel Parrish.
