Sum 41 At Terminal 5 5-12-2018

Written By: Kevin Wilson

On Saturday, May 12th. Sum 41 came out to New York City’s Terminal 5 to celebrate the release of their new album, Does This Look Infected. This wasn’t just any ordinary album release tour. You see, this was Sum 41’s 15 yeah anniversary birthday bash. Singer, Deryck Whibley told the crowd that they weren’t planning on touring just yet, but due to the overwhelming amount of letters and messages they received. He knew they just had the hit the road for some shows. Even though NYC was a midpoint for this tour, Whibley expressed how much doing this show in NYC meant so much to him. Having their album recorded and mixed in NYC, videos shot here & always wanting to live in NYC. This felt more like a home show to the band rather than just some mid-tour stop off, and the fans were surely going to let the band know they were happy to be in New York City.

Normally, when a band plays a new album live, it can go one of two ways. Either people take a while to warm up to it and then go nuts for the order classics or it becomes complete pandemonium throughout the whole show. Right out of the gate, fans young and old crowd surfing their way to the stage was nonstop throughout the show giving the poor security guards a workout they might have not anticipated for.  Fans took to social media the day after showing their battle wound bruises from all the fun they had from the night before, so we’re expecting the rest of this tour to be a wild interactive experience.
