St. Louis, Missouri – Story of the Year is giving fans one more look into their upcoming album Wolveswith the premiere of “Miracle” today on AXS. This track gives the guitar hooks and heavy drums that make a perfect rock song while also providing honest lyrics about not wanting to lose someone or something important.

Check out “Miracle,” here.

On the upcoming album, AXS shares, “Each song on the upcoming album showcases the bands hard work, growth and professionalism as evolving artists. While the classic Story of the Year sound is still there with their new single releases, the songs have a more mature feel, where their emotions and musical skills are translated into something new. The simplicity behind the new songs gives them the older feel, and it’s bound to resonate with all of their fans-old and new.”

Produced by Aaron Sprinkle (Anberlin, New Found Glory, Acceptance)and mixed by Tom Lord-Alge & J Hall, their first full-length album since 2010 is a testament of how inspired and committed they are to making their best record yet. The upcoming album, due out December 8th, 2017, is full of depth as the band continues down a supercharged anthemic road of alternative rock/hard rock songs while remaining consistent to their classic Story of the Year soaring sound. Wolves is available for pre-order via Pledge Musicnow.

In this exclusive interview with AXS, Guitarist Ryan Phillips shared “We wrote this record simply because we fucking love music and being creative, and if that’s in your DNA, it’s not something you can just turn off or run from. It’s largely what makes you who you are. In that sense, it’s like starting over, because it’s akin to being 14 again, where you made music simply because you love it. That mindset combined with a desire to re-ignite the dream and overcome fear and uncertainty makes Wolves feel very much like starting from scratch.”

On the recently released single “I Swear I’m Okay,” Billboard shared it “sports the same adrenalized hooks that fans have come to expect from Story of the Year, deftly blending clean vocals and cathartic screams in the song’s climactic final chorus. But the band also expands their sonic palette with vintage synthesizers and electric drums, successfully transitioning the sound and fury of their past into the modern alternative rock arena.” Complementing this praise, Alternative Press premiered the track “Bang Bang,” calling it a “sure-fire crowd-pleaser”and continued on by saying “it’s the perfect way of reminding fans why they fell in love with the band in the first place.”

Story of the Year fans have been singing along for the past 17 years to hit songs like “Until The Day I Die,” “Anthem of our Dying Day,” “Take Me Back,” “Wake Up” and more.  The album pre-order and other exclusive early access to behind the scenes videos, upcoming singles and more can be found here: https://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/storyoftheyear.
