One of the biggest metal tours of the summer made a stop at Jiffy Lube Live on Tuesday. Slipknot with special guests Marilyn Manson and Of Mice & Men brought the fans out despite temperatures being well over 100 degrees. Of Mice & Men got things started for the night, playing a short but crowd pleasing eight song set featuring mostly songs from their 2014 release “Restoring Force”. The band will release their fourth studio album “Cold World” this September and played the song “Pain” in the setlist for the night. The complete setlist can be seen below as well as pictures from the set. Up next was the highly anticipated Marilyn Manson. Manson who has been criticized the past couple of weeks for his show seemed very inebriated during his set. While the band sounded good Manson’s vocals just aren’t what they used to be. Most of the songs he stumbled thru often seeming like he had forgotten parts of the lyrics. During his set he threw bags of colored powder into the crowd, broke bottles on stage using them to cut himself, pulled his pants down at one point, and ending by seeming to fall off the stage during “The Beautiful People”. If there was a highlight to Manson’s ten song set, it would have been his cover of the Euryhmics classic “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)”, which he performed while wearing stilts. Closing out the night was the band everyone had braved the heat to see, Slipknot. Still wearing the neck brace from his recent neck surgery that postponed the start of the tour, Corey Taylor and company thrilled fans with a seventeen song blistering set. The current tour will wrap up on August 27th, before the band hosts their annual Knotfest in San Bernardino, CA, after that the band will wrap up 2016 with shows in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.
