The ‘Twins of Evil,’ Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie kicked off their co-headlining ‘Hell Never Dies’ tour Tuesday night at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, MD. Both Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie have been working on new material and hopefully, fans will get their hands on it this year, until then fans can hope to possibly hear new music during the tour. The tour features support from Las Vegas’ Palaye Royale and is slated to run thru August 18th when it wraps up in New Hampshire. Fans can purchase tickets as well as VIP and meet and greet packages HERE

Both Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie will be participating in the Danny Wimmer Presents festivals, Louder Than Life and Aftershock this fall. Fans can purchase tickets to the festivals at; Louder Than Life and Aftershock.

It was an early start for the evening with Palaye Royale set to take the stage at seven, but with most opening nights there were a few hiccups and the guys went on about fifteen minutes late. The band has recently released two new singles, which are based off the storyline of drummer, Emerson Barrett’s upcoming graphic novel, “Neutopian.”  The guys put on a great opening set, but unfortunately, I think the fans had their minds set on the headliners for the night and didn’t really give the guys a fair shot. Fans of the band can keep up with all that is Palaye Royale HERE.

Marilyn Manson is an icon in the music industry and is still one of my must-see acts despite having some issues with his live performances in the past few years. On Tuesday Manson appeared a bit sluggish and tired during his twelve song set that kicked off with Manson being lowered down to the stage on a riser for the opener, “Angel With the Scabbed Wings.” The night’s set was filled with classic Marilyn Manson hits such as his cover of the Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” where he emerged onto the stage wearing stilts causing him to tower over the audience. Manson took to the podium wearing a white robe and burned a bible while kicking off “Antichrist Superstar,” and wrapped up his set with “The Beautiful People.” Overall it was a good performance by Manson and it will be interesting to see how he holds up during the course of the tour.

Marilyn Manson Setlist: Angel With the Scabbed Wings, The Love Song, Irresponsible Hate Anthem, Rock Is Dead, This Is the New Shit, The Nobodies, The Dope Show, If I Was Your Vampire (first time since 2009), Say10, Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) (Eurythmics cover), and Antichrist Superstar.

Encore: The Beautiful People.

Closing out the night was Rob Zombie who on this tour is holding nothing back when it comes to production. The show consisted of an amazing light show, huge LED screens which played classic horror movies and various other clips thru out the set. At 54 years young, Zombie still knows how to put on a show and showed all those in attendance he still has what it takes during his energy filled twelve song hour-plus set.

Rob wasted no time getting up close and personal with the audience as he climbed the barrier and was hoisted up by fans for “More Human Than Human.” The night’s set was a good blend of Zombie classics, unfortunately, no new material from the upcoming album was played, but overall it was a good blend of new material back to the White Zombie classics, “More Human Than Human,” and “Thunder Kiss ’65.”

Prior to starting “Well, Everybody’s Fucking in a U.F.O.” Rob wanted to speak to the crowd about some very serious issues going on, like how there’s never any talk of U.F.O.’s when he turns on the news. He told the crowd he wasn’t interested in talking about healthcare or politics but he wanted to talk about alien abductions and told the crowd ‘The first person in a debate that talks about alien abductions’ he’s voting for, which brought applause from the crowd.

Before “Thunder Kiss ’65” Zombie again took a minute to address the crowd, telling them, how back in the 90’s he thought the ’90s sucked but now he thinks it was alright. He asked the crowd to put their phones away for three minutes and just enjoy the show, reminding them that the video and audio would probably look and sound like shit anyway and that they would never watch the videos.

The set included the cover of The Beatles “Helter Skelter” which Manson did not return to the stage to perform with Rob.  The night wrapped up with the trailer to Rob’s soon to be released “3 From Hell” before launching into “Dragula.”

Rob Zombie Setlist: Demonoid Phenomenon, Superbeast, Living Dead Girl, More Human Than Human (White Zombie song), The Hideous Exhibitions of a Dedicated Gore Whore, Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Supertown, In the Age of the Consecrated Vampire We All Get High, Well, Everybody’s Fucking in a U.F.O., Pussy Liquor, John 5 Guitar Solo, Thunder Kiss ’65 (White Zombie song), Helter Skelter (The Beatles cover) (without Manson), and Dragula
