Red Sun Rising closed out their first ever headlining tour at the iconic Machine Shop. Red Sun Rising is still riding high off the success of their single “The Otherside” off the album Polyester Zeal. “The Otherside” recently hit #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. Red Sun Rising, from Akron, Ohio, consists of Mike Protich [vocals/guitar], Ryan Williams [guitar], Dave McGarry [guitar], Ricky Miller [bass/vocals], and Pat Gerasia [drums].
The enthusiastic sold out crowd packed the Flint bar on this low dough Saturday night show. Red Sun Rising opened the set with “Push.” Protich oozed with energy as he stepped up on the risers and drew the crowd in with each song the band performed. Red Sun Rising projects high energy, yet plays with precision. The stage was often a swirl of guitars with no one person standing in one spot for long.
The frenzied Michigan crowd sang along loudly with Protich, especially during “The Otherside.” “Uninvited” and the bands latest chart climbing single, “Emotionless, ” had the fans interacting with every word. “Emotionless” is currently at #23 on the Rock chart and everyone seemed to know all of the words as they belted them out right along with Protich. The overall feel of this band is an explosive, charismatic, down to earth, personable band. If you haven’t seem them yet, you need to find a way. They will not disappoint you.
