Marc E. Bassy At The Depot, Salt Lake City, Utah 3-4-2020

Written By: Sascha Steadman

“I want you to have a very positive but open experience, you can do anything at a Marc E. Bassy show.”

The Marc E. Bassy PMD tour featuring Gianni and Kyle sold out Salt Lake City’s premier venue, The Depot; with the patron line wrapping around multiple city blocks. Salt Lake was not the first sold out venue on the tour, so far, every stop on the PMD tour has sold out. During soundcheck Beyoncé’s Halo playing had the whole crowd singing along, warming up for Gianni and Kyle who really got the energy started. During their set, they noticed one of their fans had a flip phone and made a point to stop and pose just for them. Don’t worry for all smart phone patrons they offered to respond to every Instagram tag. Shortly before Marc’s entrance, the barricade almost fell a few times from those testing their luck on the way to the front. With his latest release, PMD (September of 2019) the majority of his set was from that album. He did, however throw in a few oldies like Morning and You and Me. Marc spoke about his first Salt Lake show, where only thirty to forty people attended it was still so wild that “They threw a kid at me”. That lead into a song that he dedicated as a tribute to a dear friend of his that is no longer with us. He followed up with a story about growing up in San Francisco where he slept in the same room as Tracy Chapman, then shared with us his rendition of the ever popular “Fast Car”. If you like the sound of good vibes, good songs and great memories the PMD tour is still going, get your tickets fast because shows are selling out left and right.
