Madame Mayhem At Mercury Lounge 1/11/2017

On January 11, 2017, Gothic Hard Rocker Madame Mayhem and her band hit the stage of the Mercury Lounge in New York City.  This being the first hometown show for Mayhem (as she is fondly referred to by many) and some of her band mates in years.  New York City, Punk-Hard Rock band, Midnight Crisis opened up the show by warming up the excited crowd prior Madame Mayhem took the stage.

Percy Trayanov on bass, Billy Grey on guitar, Ryan Bennett on drums and Joey Regalbuto on guitars make up Madame Mayhem’s band.  Having Mayhem on vocals rounding out an amazingly talented group of musicians and singers.

The minute Mayhem and co hit the Mercury Lounge stage pure energy could be felt throughout the crowd, venue and running through the bands veins shown through the bands no hold bar performance.  Mayhem strutted around the stage with confidence and a presence of a veteran knowing how to connect and entertain a crowd with her in your face performance of rocking out hard-core to the Heavy Metal and Hard Rock tunes.  Wearing her signature spike fingerless gloves, one pink and one black with a body suit with rhinestones and a choker collar all in black was rounded off with platform rhinestone boots matching her raven black hair.  Madame Mayhem’s style of clothing is a famous trademark along with her killer vocals and ability to bring to life the lyrics and emotion of every song she sings.

Bennett provided killer double pedal drumming and heavy percussion throughout the show, while Trayanov on bass seem to accompany Bennett and live and breathe ever moment of each song along with adding his vocals to some of the songs.  Regalbuto’s  guitar playing was animated and he truly showed off his talent on strings along with singing background on some of the songs. During most of the set he and Mayhem seemed to have a playful stage vibe going on with pushing  each other and playing off each other’s energy. Grey brought to life to the music with his own style of guitar playing especially during his solo sections.

Mayhem’s set was made up of a heavy-set of songs.  From the beginning of the set to the last song the energy was high and the songs were all tight in terms of lyrical and musical content. All of the songs brought the band to life with killer Heavy Metal and Hard Rock tunes that the crowd could not ignore getting into.  The set was built around Madame Mayhem’s newest unreleased songs which she has especially decided to debut at the Mercury Lounge for her hometown fans.  The response was received very well as the crowd huddled around the stage to be a part of the energy and vibe coming off the members of the band as they played every note full of their heart and soul.

Mayhem’s voice was strong and powerful; her ability to bring seduction and strength to her live performance is what makes her one of today’s most powerful women in Rock.  Two songs off the ‘Now you Know’ album, were played on top of the new music, “Monster” and “Left for Dead”, which when played got a huge fan response.  As, the last song of the night was played the energy from the band built and as the song ended Mayhem thanked the crowd.  The vibe and spirit of what had just taken place could still be felt in the venue.

There is something to be said about Madame Mayhem and her band and that is they truly are seasoned musicians who know how to connect with their fans and to bring to life the music they play on stage.  Mayhem is a veteran on stage and being able to bring her sexuality and powerful vocals together is what makes her a force to be reckoned with in the industry.  To go see a Madame Mayhem show is an amazing experience all its own.
