Lords Of Acid's Pretty In Kink

Lords Of Acid made their musical debut in 1988 with their first single, “I Sit On Acid.” The brainchild of Praga Kahn, the band saw a boom in popularity, and controversy, in 1998 with the song “Pussy.”

For anyone that doesn’t know this music, Lords of Acid are the pioneers of electronic dance music. Their lyrics have a habit of being raunchy and sexual. Their new album, Pretty In Kink lives up to the band’s history.

Released on Metropolis Records, the band used a Kickstarter campaign to pay to make this album that is rich in electro grooves that will have you dancing.

The entire album lives up to what fans would expect from this band. “Before The Night Is Over” is one of the best tracks on the album. The beat is mesmerizing. The album is spot-on, even if Kahn has a whole new collection of talent performing with him.

You can expect sex, dance beats, things that go bump in the night, and all things dark and dingy within the twelve songs on this album. Some of the songs have a faster beat, some of them have a mellower dance groove. It’s a wonderful combination and makes for an album that’s easy to listen to; It’s not all loud and fast all the time.

If you’re an old-school goth or rivethead, you’d be happy with this new album. If you have ever been a fan of Lords Of Acid, you’ll enjoy the nostalgia of hearing the band again, even if there are different players involved. Five full stars for the warm and fuzzies, and the brain full of foul language.
