Jeffrey Dallet Band's Abnormal Oddities

Jeffrey Dallet is a talented musician out of Colorado. Abnormal Oddities is his debut album, under the name Jeffrey Dallet Band.

You’ll notice from the very first song that Dallet has a sound reminiscent of Tom Petty. However, the beat of this music sometimes shies away from that of Petty, having a bit of a punk edge to it once in awhile, but always mixed with a country edge.

“Blind Love in Vain” was an excellent song to start this album with. It’s a strong tune that has an intriguing sound. Dallet and his band easily mix punk with blues and country to make a sound that you can’t stop listening to This song will leave you wanting more for sure. Not only is the instrumentation amazing, but the lyrics are poetic and gritty.

“Someday” adds a mellower vibe to the album. It’s slow and a little bit romantic. It’s a lullaby for lovers and has a delightful sound that will make you fall in love with it.

“Dead and Lonely” is one of the tracks that really makes you think of Petty. This song is a rock and country track, with a slow vibe that makes you think folk and Americana. Again, Dallet has a talent with lyrics.

There are many more songs on this first album from the Jeffrey Dallet Band. It’s worth a listen, for sure.
