Halestorm At Stone Pony Summer Stage 8-6-2018

Written By: Brandon Delano

Fans lined up around the block to get into one of the hottest tours of the summer on Monday night as the co-headlining tour featuring In This Moment and Halestorm made a stop at The Stone Pony Summer Stage in Ashbury Park, NJ.

New Years Day got things kicked off on the hot August evening with a short six song opening set. Ash Costello and crew set the tone for what fans were in for the rest of the evening as they kicked off their set with “Kill or Be Killed,” followed by their version of Pantera’s “Fucking Hostile.” Also making the set was “Disgust Me,” from their latest EP release Diary of a Creep. “Defame Me” from 2015’s Malevolence is what was chosen to close out the set. It’s great to see New Years Day continuing to grow and gain more and more support with each tour they are on, one can only hope to see them make the transition to headliner in the near future. New Years Day will continue to tour with In This Moment and Halestorm on the newly released fall dates of the tour.

New Years Day Setlist:.  Kill or Be Killed, Fucking Hostile (Pantera cover), Disgust Me, Scream, Epidemic, and Defame Me.

In This Moment took the stage around 7 for their set. Still being day light during their set took away from the theatrics of their stage performance but performance wise they sounded great. ITM kicked things off with “Blood” before quickly moving on to “River of Fire” from their latest release, Ritual. Also making the set from the latest album were “Roots,” Phill Collins’ “In the Air Tonight,” and “Oh Lord.” One notable song that was missing from the set was “Black Wedding” where Ash Costello has been joining the band on stage to sing Rob Halford’s parts of the song.

In This Moment Setlist: Blood, River of Fire, Adrenalize, Roots, Monster Jam, Big Bad Wolf, In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins cover), Sick Like Me, Oh Lord, and Whore.

Halestorm closed out the night with a fifteen song set for the nearly four thousand in attendance. Halestorm just released their latest album Vicious at the end of July and fans were treated to seven new tracks off the album. The set kicked off with “Skulls” from the latest release and also included “Do Not Disturb,” “Black Vultures,” “Heart of Novocaine,” “Uncomfortable,” “Killing Ourselves to Live,” and “Vicious” all from the latest release. Rounding out the set were classic Halestorm hits, “Love Bites (So Do I),” “I Miss the Misery,” “I Am the Fire,” and ended with “Here’s to Us.” Fans can catch this tour when it kicks back off this fall, tickets can be purchased HERE
