Fresh off their headlining performance at Inkcarceration on Saturday, Godsmack brought their summer tour to downtown Baltimore on Sunday night playing to a packed house at MECU Pavilion. The guys are out touring in support of their seventh studio album When Legends Rise which was released back in 2018. The album has produced the singles “When Legends Rise,” “Bulletproof,” and “Under Your Scars.” Fans can purchase tickets and VIP packages for the remaining tour dates HERE.

New Years Day got things started for the evening, with only two bands on the night’s lineup the band got to play a longer opening set than usual. New Years Day have been out on their own headlining tour in support of their latest release, Unbreakable before jumping on with Godsmack for the month of July. Look for the band to tour again this fall with In This Moment throughout September and October before heading to Europe to join Halestorm for the month of November.

At roughly 9 p.m. the curtain dropped and Godsmack kicked off their set with “When Legends Rise,” the title track from their latest release. From there the guys played a ten-song set filled with hit after hit, as well a three-song encore featuring the latest singles, “Under Your Scars,” “Bulletproof,” and wrapped up with “I Stand Alone.”

At one point during the set Sully took a minute to tell the audience how he had quit smoking six days before and a result had been staying up watching a lot of late-night tv resulting in the frontman buying over $700 worth of Cindy Crawford’s wrinkle cream, but dared the crowd to find a single wrinkle on his 51-year-old face. Sully also joked with the crowd about how the pavilion’s roof reminded him of a bouncy house and encouraged the fans to get up off their feet and start bouncing.

Sully dedicated the band’s latest single “Under Your Scars” to the late Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell as well as wanting to bring attention to The Scars Foundation. The Scars Foundation was created by Sully to help bring awareness to mental health issues, suicide, addiction, abuse, and bullying that so many people face.

All donations made through Scars Foundation efforts will go to benefit those programs with a proven track record of effectiveness in addressing mental health issues.

Every donation to The Scars Foundation will include a download of our single “Under Your Scars”.
