Gemini Syndrome At Hooligans In Jacksonville, NC 5-20-2022

Written By: Zaneta Padilla

Gemini Syndrome Is out a short 5 stop tour, kicking off with Welcome to Rockville on May 19, with their second stop in Jacksonville, NC at Hooligans.

Made to Rise is touring with them this tour, and supporting the bill at Hooligans was NC local bands, Heathensun, Headtrip Trauma and Waking Tera.

Heathensun came out, already a crowd favorite with a dude in a kilt, and ski masks. Following Heathensun was Headtrip Trauma who were just as visually exciting on stage with their bloodied faces. Local favorite, Waking Tera followed with their growing band. They had a special moment where a sign language interpreter joined them onstage to provide an inclusive experience to members of the deaf community in the crowd. Finally, Made to Rise played their set before Gemini Syndrome. The singer came on stage with his face covered for the first song with a bandana, then giving it to a fan finished his set.

Like all the bands on the bill, Gemini Syndrome came out with a striking visual element to their set. Bass player Alessandro Pavel came out in all black with his long dreads and his face painted black and white, covering his tattoos. Drummer, Brian Steel Medina had smokey black eyes that made his eyes pop as he’d stand up between songs, capturing audience attention with his intense eye contact, faces and other antics. Meegs on guitar came out in taped up geek glasses and a white button up covered in blood. Finally vocalist Aaron Nordstrom came out in a 3 piece black suit, which gave his performance an element of poignancy when the spotlight would be on him, surrounded by darkness and on his knees.

This tour run is ending this week, but follow their pages for updates on upcoming tour dates. Gemini Syndrome is offering exclusive acoustic set after their shows for VIP ticket holders, so upgrade those tickets when you can! Also, be prepared for new music to be coming out from the Gemini Syndrome camp in the near future!
