Diamante's Volume I EP

Diamante is a unique artist; is as her name.  In Spanish, Diamante means ‘Diamond’ and her middle name Azzura in Italian means ‘Blue’.  This 21-year-old blue haired rocker is already what some might call “a diamond in the rough”.  With a passion for rock music, her love for theatre and poetry she has made up the perfect combination for stardom.  Her debut EP is something special that will prove to the world she means business.

Boston raised, Diamante got the attention of Better Noise Records and Seven Music Group in 2015 the year she was signed.  They saw something raw and exceptional in her. She soon would be living her dream full time as a singer when she started to work with producer, Howard Benson (Halestorm, My Chemical Romance).  In June of 2017, she released her debut single “Coming In Hot” which was a song that allowed her to open up lyrically.

Diamante’s debut EP was released April 6, 2018 on Better Noise Records.  The EP is a versatile one that shows off the many sides of Diamante lyrically and musically.  No two songs sound alike and she draws from many genres of rock and roll. She is vulnerable at times and a powerhouse vocally at others. This EP is one that is distinctive of what Diamante is all about.

The opening song on the EP is “Had Enough” a true hard rock song with an edge. It has a steady guitar, bass and drum section that is the backbone of the tune.  One cannot deny the sexy, raw vocals that Diamante possesses when she is singing. The EP started off with the true definition of what Diamante stands for and has a powerful message mixed with pure rock.

“Bulletproof” is the second track off the EP. It has a retro sounding guitar solo introduction then bass and drum come in.  Diamante enters adding her sassy and passionate vocals. Her versatility as a vocalist is put on display during sections of the song as it gets more intense musically.  She adds some screams and powerhouse heavier vocals as the music builds. This tune is one that is diverse; starting off more alternative sounding but becoming hard rock in the end.

Definitely to become a fan favorite is “Fight Like A Girl” AKA F.L.A.G.  This is sure to become a rock anthem that will have listeners singing along. With a steady rock vibe of bass, drums and guitar, Diamante gives a vocal performance full of fury! There is a great rock guitar solo that has to be noted as fierce.  If fans listen carefully they can hear some Halestorm/Lzzy Hale and Joan Jett reverberating throughout the tune.

“Sleepwalking” is a song that starts off with melodic vocals, piano, steady bass, rolling drums and a strumming guitar.  It is a rock ballad with verses that become hard rock during the chorus. Again Diamante proves that she has the ability to be diverse in her music and vocal ability.  Passionate and entrancing, this tune is one that is beautifully executed.

The last song on the album is “War Cry” it is a techno-industrial rock song with powerful vocals. It must be mentioned that there is a killer techno guitar solo and breakdown verse that adds dimension to the song.  Diamante ends her EP with a trendy and distinct sound that not many can pull off.

Diamante is an artist that is not afraid to cross boundaries musically and when it comes to vocals, genre and style of sound. She stands out as a singer and songwriter that is true to herself and her craft. Volume I a debut EP that any true rock fans  should have in their collection.
