THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF THE "TRANSIT BLUES" SPECIAL DELUXE VINYL PACKAGE
The Devil Wears Prada will kick off 2017 with a special limited edition vinyl release of their new album, Transit Blues (Rise Records), set to be available mid-to-late February.  The album will be pressed on 180g black vinyl and housed in a gatefold sleeve with a rigid slipcase.  Retailing for $40, the package will feature a 13″ X 13″ 60-plus-page hard-back book with full-page photos that chronicle the band’s odyssey over the seven-month period they took to create the album.   Pre-orders can be placed beginning today by logging onto http://tdwp.merchnow.com/products/v2/244331/transit-blues-photo-book-black

“This is something we’ve been wanting to do for years,” said The Devil Wears Prada’s vocalist Mike Hranica, “and the folks at Rise have been totally supportive in making it happen.”

Prada’s friend and long-time photographer Anthony Barlich bunked with the band on and off over the course of the writing, rehearing and recording process.  Prada members Mike Hranica (vocals), Jeremy DePoyster (rhythm guitar, vocals), Andy Trick (bass), and Kyle Sipress (lead guitar), joined by touring keyboardist/co-writer Jon Gering, holed up either in a rental home or a barn in the late-summer fields of Watertown, WI, later in snowy Sawyer, MI, and eventually in a dimly lit studio warehouse in Long Island, NY.  Barlich captured it all, shooting “fly-on-the-wall” photos daily, thousands of snapshots that illuminated the camaraderie, the shared meals, quiet moments, time spent at a skate park, breaks for foosball, bowling, just tossing a ball, or the rescue and feeding of two abandoned baby squirrels.  When the final images had been chosen, Barlich captioned every one with a hand-written descriptive sentence or two.

“This photo book is an awesome glimpse into the intimacy behind The Devil Wears Prada,” said the band’s Jeremy DePoyster. “It’s a stark contrast to our bright, silhouetting lights in a live environment where we try to place the focus on the music itself. Anthony’s vision shows a group of guys who came together to make something we passionately believe in, and I feel that it captures perfectly the places, both literal and in spirit, we were at during this year of the band’s life!”
