DED debuted their music video for the song “A Mannequin Idol (Lullaby)” on Friday, May 08, 2020, and it kicks serious butt. The micro ep Mannequin Eyes and the new music video can be downloaded on bands website here: https://www.dedband.com. You can also listen on streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon just to name a few.
The guys caught my attention back in 2017 with their Billboard charting singles “Anti-Everything” and “Remember the Enemy”. After their explosive entrance into the music scene, the band hit the road doing large music festivals and even appearing in the lineup for the epic ShipRocked Cruise in February of 2020. Sirius Octane even named them “Artist Discovery of the Year”, and the song “Anti-Everything” hit their top 10 for the year in 2017.
Watching the new video has me very excited to listen to the new album which is said to be released by the end of July. It is radio-ready, heavy, dark, and eerily beautiful. The melody and the lyrics had me enthralled as I watched the new video for “A Mannequin Idol”. The video is dark and beautiful in a simple way. The editing was brilliant, and the band was highlighted in a way that really embraced what they have become.
I love the band’s new look and sound. Especially, Joe Cotella’s (vocals) new tribal look which was spotted in previous performances. The rest of the band which includes David Ludlow (guitar), Kyle Koelsch (bass), and Matt Reinhard (drums) have had less of a dramatic shift in appearance which really puts Joe in the spotlight as frontman. And he is one hell of a frontman. Go check out the new video and music, and then catch them at a show later when this Covid19 junk is over.
