David Dixon's Self-Titled Album

David Dixon is a Blues-Rock hybrid artist from Wilmington, NC. He has a unique sound with mixes of heavy guitar, guitar bending, and brass throughout his songs. His voice is versatile throughout his songs by balancing harmonies and deep bluesy vocals.

“Sway” opens the self-titled David Dixon album with a simple drum beat, then a surprising hard guitar riff. Between the verse and chorus, brass is introduced, changing the tempo of the song to focus on the feel of the chorus “I wish I’d known better, cause my faith has started to sway,” about a toxic woman.

“Black Heart” is another track that stands out with it’s gritty sound. What’s interesting about the music in this song is how the tempo picks up for the pre-chorus, which the lyrics pick up in a positive tone of the song. Another song about a toxic woman, the chorus is catchy “Black hearted woman, look ya dead in the eye, tell ya that she love ya, got a man on the side.”

This album is a great listen, and with it combining genres and instruments, it’s a good fit for everyone. Check it out and get to know David Dixon at www.DavidDixonMusic.com
