Clutch’s Book of Bad Decisions

Clutch's Book of Bad Decisions

Clutch has been around since 1993. They are known for their singer’s, Neil Fallon, unique vocals. They are also known for their often tongue-in-cheek lyrics. They have a sound that attracts metal fans as well as stoner rockers. They aren’t heavy, but they give off that vibe – they’re more than just rock.

For any Clutch newbs out there, the band consists of Neil Fallon on vocals and guitar, Jean-Paul Gaster on drums, Dan Maines on bass, and Tim Sult on guitar.

Book of Bad Decisions, the newest studio album from Clutch, does not stray from the sound you expect from the band. The songs tell stories, they sound like Clutch, and they rock.

“Gimme the Keys” begins the album with a storytelling tune that is all rock vibe. It’s followed by “Spirit of ’76,” which has those fuzzy guitar vibes you expect from a stoner rock band.

The title track is the song that stands out the most. It’s a great track that is sure to be a favorite to many. Not only are the lyrics relatable, but it has an absolutely killer guitar solo.

Keep listening though – it’s almost like each song gets a little better than the last one. Book of Bad Decisions could possibly be one of the best Clutch albums to date. Props to the guys for keeping it real and never changing up their style so much that you don’t know it’s them. They don’t make every song sound the same, but you can definitely distinguish a Clutch song from any other band in their genre(s).

Book of Bad Decisions is a 5-star album. Two thumbs up.

Book of Bad Decisions is slated to release to the unsuspecting world on September 7. Be waiting in line – you don’t want to miss this.
