The Suicide Girls Blackheart Burlesque show hosted by Rebecca Crow and featuring Suicide Girls such as, Sunny Suicide, Penelope Suicide, Whiskey Suicide, and Liryc Suicide, just to name a few of the performers made a stop at The National in Richmond, VA on 10/28.
In a city with strip clubs spread across it, Richmond chose tonight to place restrictions on the Blackheart Burlesque show by not allowing the girls to bare quite as much as they’re accustomed to in their shows. It seemed the girls were just as disappointed as many of the some 500 fans who had come out on this rainy Wednesday night to catch the show which is currently touring across the country. Despite the setback the girls still gave it their all performing for nearly two hours and keeping the crowd entertained as they performed routines such as; Sailor Moon, Super Heroes, Harry Potter, The Legend of Zelda, 50 Shades of Grey, Planet of the Apes, Star Wars, and a unique twist on The Little Mermaid performed by Sunny Suicide. Throughout the night the girls interacted with the audience giving out one year memberships to www.suicidegirls.com as well as merchandise. The crowd was also invited on stage to interact and participate in some of the skits, as well as given a chance to shake what they had for the audience.
In the end despite the girls giving it 100% the restrictions placed on the show really took away the feel of what a Blackheart Burlesque show has become known for.
