AmirSaysNothing Enters The Ring With Producer Alexander Spit For “Mr. Nothing’s Neighborhood

AmirSaysNothing enters the ring with producer Alexander Spit for “Mr. Nothing’s Neighborhood,” a little gem of a three-track effort. The EP runs just shy of 10 minutes, but takes listeners on a smooth journey through a land where it’s ok to not have everything together.

AmirSaysNothing and Alexander Spit run the same circles in the Los Angeles music and streetwear scenes, so connecting for this project was natural.

“He’s a guy that I really respect his way with music, it’s artistic and creative but on the highest level,” Amir says. “I believe he has the kind of qualities as a producer that the top guys have because they make everyone who works with them ‘better.’ We created something that was just that — music — and it’s not for anything else but great raps and great beats.”

Contrasting the innocent world of the beloved “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood,” the New York-bred MC cracks jokes about the realities of life as a 20-something trying to make it in the hypercompetitive world of the internet-driven 21st Century. There is a sense of nostalgia with the cover art, a photograph taken by his mother where a young Amir and his siblings are selling lemonade outside of their grandparents’ house, showing that Amir has been a hustler since day one.

This project is about simplicity, it’s about heart,” Amir explains. “It’s just pure. We created this without spending too much time trying to craft it. It beautifully ‘is what it is.’”

“Mr. Nothing’s Neighborhood” follows AmirSaysNothing’s “Love Always, Mr. Right” EP, which dropped in April of this year. That project explored an emotional side to Amir that had not yet been showcased.

AmirSaysNothing is currently opening for Mike Shinoda on the Outbreak Tour. He has also performed with Evidence, Warm Brew, and headlined his own tour in 2017.
