The band BAD OMENS had popped up on my radar late last year, and I am a huge fan of them already. California based, and signed to Sumerian Records, BAD OMENS consists of members Noah Sebastian (lead vocals), Joakim “Jolly” Karlsson (lead guitar, vocals), Nicholas Ruffilo (bass), and Nick Folio (drums). And they are the band to watch in 2021. I predict that they are going to blow up, and I can’t wait to see if I am right. This would have been a big year for them if the Coronavirus had not put a hold on the band’s exposure this year. The virus had forced them to cut their DETHRONE-THE KILLED AND BORN AGAIN tour way too short back in March of 2020.
The band’s latest release FGBGFM UNPLUGGED, came out on October 29, 2020. It features acoustic versions of their most popular songs from the band’s January 17, 2020 release of FINDING GOD BEFORE GOD FINDS ME. And it is flipping amazing. If you are looking for something that is chill, with lyrics that will not make you feel like a square, then this EP is a must-have for your music collection. Noah Sebastian has a beautiful and soulful voice. And his lyrics are dark. Combine all that, with the softer sound of the acoustic instrumentals, and the results are these already beautiful metal songs, being turned into surprisingly sexy, intimate, and relaxing renditions. FGBGFM Unplugged is the perfect EP to throw on for a romantic evening or a relaxing moment.
